Connecting training to impact in the real world

By William Seidman A great colleague and friend, Jon Revelos of Global Novations, just sent me an article about the connection between training and impact. I think he meant to provoke me, which he did. The article argues that we shouldn’t be concerned about the relationship between training and return on investment (ROI)  because it is virtually impossible to make a reasonable connection between the two, and that too many factors intervene in the real world to make it possible to link training to impact. We don’t have that problem since all of the learning tasks we generate come from practitioners and are realistic and practical. We make the connection between “training” and impact often and without much work, because our goal is to educate people in the real world.]]>
